The intersection of AI and open-source is a hot topic right now. In the Rust project, we’ve encoutered a sharp divergence of opinion on how to manage the use of AI. This mdbook is part of an ongoing conversation that has the goal of steering us towards an AI-use policy that the community as a whole can get behind.
The conversation began with an open hackmd that anyone could contribute to. Those comments are captured here. nikomatsakis then authored a summary that describes the range of opinions from that document, using direct quotes.
